Hi! I’m Kara and I’m so glad you’re here!
I’ve been baking since I was just a little thing. I’ve become an expert at baking simple and easy recipes because sometimes, I just want to make something quick and easy that still tastes like I spent all day in the kitchen.
Don’t get me wrong, I like to bake from scratch, but with life being so busy, lots of times I just want to bake something quick. If you’re the same way, then you’re in the right place.
I love shortcuts and quick ways to do things (especially when it comes to baking), but I also want my food to taste homemade…like it was made from scratch. I’ve made it my mission to create delicious food without spending tons of time in the kitchen and missing out on all the fun. It’s also my mission to share these recipes and tips with you, so you can enjoy life too.
My obsession with baking:
Growing up, I was constantly baking something. Things didn’t always turn out the way I wanted them to, but I always tried and I kept at it. I’ve learned a lot over the years and I’m still learning!
As a kid, I was ‘volunteered’ to help out with countless weddings. I grew up immersed in the event businesses. My mother and her friend owned a wedding business. It was fun at times…boring at other times, but I learned a lot. I learned and became experienced in baking, cake decorating, wedding decor, floral design and I learned all the cheesy wedding songs. (I could have done without that last part.)
I feel like my fascination with baking is just as strong as when I was a kid. I’m still reading cookbooks like they’re novels and I love those old church potluck cookbooks…they’re just so fun!
The start of Quick & Easy Baking:
As an adult, I also journeyed into cake decorating and baking scratch cakes and you can see all those recipes and tutorials on my other site here: I Scream for Buttercream
That site is mostly about scratch baking and ALL about cake specifically. For a while after starting it, I really wanted to create a site that could provide super quick and easy baking ideas so that people could actually have fun with baking and not spend so much time in the kitchen…and so, Quick and Easy Baking was born.
My wish for you:
I hope you find lots of baking ideas here (sweet and savory), but more importantly, I hope you have fun trying things out and experimenting on your own!
